Pak Tai Temple
Tai Tei Tong, Mui Wo, Lantau Island
Located in Tai Tei Tong Village, Mui Wo, Pak Tai Temple is one of the crucial traditional temples in the district. The annual “Mui Wo Pak Tai Festival,” held on the third day of the third lunar month, has been inscribed as part of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage. According to legend, the statue of Pak Tai in the temple was initially worshipped on Cheung Chau, but after a typhoon, it drifted to Mui Wo and has since been venerated by local residents.
