Tai O

Located in the western part of Lantau Island and facing Lingdingyang, the tranquil Tai O is the oldest fishing village in Hong Kong and one of the most popular tourist attractions on Lantau Island. Due to the unique topographic features of Tai O and the surrounding wetlands, local residents dwell in stilt houses built by the shore, therefore Tai O is hailed as “Venice of the Orient”. The Dragon Boat Water Parade is held in Tai O every year during the Dragon Boat Festival. The Parade was inscribed onto the third national list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2011.

Ngong Ping

Ngong Ping, located on Lantau Peak in Lantau Island, is a renowned tourist destination that combines Buddhist culture, natural scenery and leisure activities. Visitors can take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car travel from Tung Chung and enjoy a journey with sweeping views of the airport, coastline and surrounding mountains. After arriving, you can visit the solemn giant Big Buddha and the historically rich Po Lin Monastery, and experience the tranquil Buddhist ambience and vegetarian culture.
