Tai Lei Island, Peng Chau, Islands District
Located northwest of Peng Chau, Tai Lei (also known as Tai Lei Island) is connected to Peng Chau by the Tai Lei Bridge (Peng Lei Road). The island is named after the former “Tai Lei Lime Kiln Factory”, a testament to Peng Chau’s lime industry history. As Peng Chau was historically a fishing community, a pier light was erected on Tai Lei for guiding vessels, and it remains in use today. The island also features a turtle-shaped rock, a natural landmark that makes it a great spot for walks, photography, and immersing oneself in nature.
