The Tin Hau Temple on Peng Chau is dedicated to the worship of Mazu, the sea goddess in the realm of the Chinese folk religion, and is deeply revered by fishermen and other seafarers. The temple has a history of over 200 years and features a distinctive architectural style that embodies the elements of traditional Chinese temple design. Every year, the temple holds grand celebrations for the Tin Hau Festival (Mazu's birthday), attracting large numbers of devotees to visit and pay their respects.
